Fissurectomy is one of the options among those techniques to treat chronic anal fissures. Many surgeons used this technique in patients with a high risk of incontinence, such as old age people, multiparous women, patients with the normal anal tone, and patients with a previous history of anorectal surgery

Instructions

How is a Fissurectomy performed?

The fissurectomy was performed using an electric scalpel, with the dissection starting by an incision of the anal verge below the edge of the fissure, then surrounding it, and eventually going above the dentate line. Any associated skin tag was removed within the same piece of tissue.
